Join us for night of film noir—crime, drama, fast-talking detectives—and pinot noir. Billy Wilder’s classic 1944 film noir Double Indemnity, based on a story by Raymond Chandler, stars Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stawnyck, and Edward G. Robinson in the tale of an insurance salesman who gets roped into a murderous scheme.

Enjoy complimentary fine wine, small bites, and rampant noir clichés as we find out whether or not Fred gets caught—or worse, double-crossed. Presented by City of Albany, Albany Library and Albany FilmFest.

Double Indemnity is the dazzling, quintessential film noir whose enormous popular success and seven Oscar nominations catapulted Billy Wilder (Some Like It Hot, Sunset Boulevard, The Apartment) into the very top tier of Hollywood's writer-directors. Adapted from a novella by James M.
