Albany FilmFest and the Albany Library are excited to partner for this screening of selections from the Legacy Film Festival on Aging. These short films make it clear that aging, like all of life, is a spectrum of experience.

Hula Girl (10 MIN.)  Amy Hill and Chris Riess, Dirs., USA, 2018.

The untold story behind one of the biggest fads in modern American history. At 94 years of age, Joan Anderson waited 60 years to set the record straight.

 

Life Model (5:45 MIN.)  Lori Petchers, Dir., USA.  

A poetic look into the world of an aging nude figure model and the beautiful artwork she inspires.

 

I Remember You (10 MIN.)  Michael Catlin, Dir., USA, 2016.

Bruce Davidson gives a moving performance as a widower with loving hallucinations about his wife, as he flees harsh inevitable truths about his future. 

 

The Call (19:12 MIN.)  Milos Ljubomirovic, Dir., Serbia, 2018.

This film highlights the alienation and gap between the generations, as a grandson impatiently tries to teach his grandmother how to Skype.  In Serbian, with English subtitles.

 

Kayla  (19 MIN.)  John Dower, Dir., UK, 2018.

A lonely and chaotic unseasoned caregiver (Sarah (27) has to decide what to do when her new employer Stanley (80) mistakes her for his granddaughter.

As Joseph and Selina Gonzales approach their 71st wedding anniversary, they reflect on endurance, love and fortitude after years of living outside the flood walls in Yscloskey Beach, Louisiana.
